The rear wing raced at Brazil was of the same design to the previous version but of reduced chord ( see the large gap between the two flaps ) as Interlagos is a track of lower downforce level .To reduce drag the second flap was cut off close to the endplates .
Toro Rosso like all teams but HRT , developed a special ultra low downforce rear wing for Monza . The wing remained double profiled with the upper profile retaining the central slot . On the contrary the endplates lost the gills , in a different approach to Canada where endplates kept the gilled configuration .
A new rear wing of reduced chord and low drag was raced at low downforce Canadian circuit to help STR5 achieve higher top speed at long straights .
