Red Bull RB6 – Major updates to the diffuser at Bahrain

A heavily revised diffuser was presented by Red Bull at last winter test at Barcelona , a structure  retained for Bahrain . The new diffuser had enlarged double deck tunnels and the rear crash structure separated from the main section . The changes were made to increase the quantity of air passing from the double deck to increase diffuser’s sunction effect boosting downforce production .  Finally there is a clever small duct at the side of the double deck wall to  permit  hot exhaust gases from the very low positioned exhaust pipe outlet  to enter the second diffuser’s deck , energizing the airflow and boosting its performance further .
